Glabridin Sourcing and Batch Quality Control
iTra supplies this ingredient through its sourcing network. Every order undergoes batch-to-batch quality checks at our Chongqing laboratory before shipment. Our San Jose office coordinates inquiries, samples, in-person presentations and after-sales support for customers in Europe and the Americas.
TDS, MSDS and COA are available on request for all our ingredients. Sales specifications and lead times are confirmed for each order. Contact us about the applicable quality checks, samples and minimum order quantity.
Ingredient Identity
INCI / Name: Glabridin
CAS No: 59870-68-7
Appearance: White to pale beige powder; purity-dependent
Usage / Properties / Application
Premium licorice flavonoid brightening agent. Potent tyrosinase-inhibition, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory positioning; purity grades can support basic to professional brightening formulas. Mechanistically, Glabridin has been reported to inhibit melanogenesis and inflammation in B16 melanoma cells and guinea-pig skin, and tyrosinase studies report reversible non-competitive inhibition with an IC50 of 0.43 μmol/L. It is water-insoluble but soluble in ethanol or glycols, making it more suitable for emulsions, oil-rich systems, or solubilized brightening serums rather than simple water-based formulas.
Custom development: glabridin inclusion
iTra develops ingredient solutions around customer requirements. One glabridin project combines cyclodextrin inclusion and spray drying to address water-phase dispersion and precipitation challenges.
The brochure example uses an inclusion powder containing 15% glabridin. This is a customer development case, not a universal specification or a performance guarantee for every formula. Custom development and supply can be evaluated against the required active content, formulation and process.
- Define active loading and dosage conversion.
- Evaluate redissolution time, clarity and precipitation.
- Check compatibility with pH, salts and ingredient blends.
- Agree assay, appearance and stability testing.
- Use customer-approved samples and specifications as the reference for subsequent deliveries.
Technical feasibility and acceptance criteria are confirmed for each project. Brochure illustrations are conceptual, not actual product photographs.
